  • At a quick glance, it looks like Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #1 would potentially have the most value depending on if it's the first issue of the regular monthly title - which has a publication date of May 1963 - or if it's the first annual of the title that was published in 1965. If it's the first regular monthly issue it could be worth 10 times or more the value of the first annual. Also, potential value would depend on the condition it's in. Here's the Comic Book Realm link to the Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos title for you ... http://comicbookrealm.com/series/1814/0/marvel-sgt-fury-and-his-howling-commandos

All values of comics are subject to condition, if you have a way to scan the comics, or post pictures that would help people give you an idea as to condition.
Don't read my blogs! Unless of course you want to learn something...

  • According to over street price guide 2014-15, Vol. 44, Sgt. Fury and his howling commandos #1 (1963), in perfect condition would bring a possible $10,000.00, as always though condition (and finding the person who'll pay what you want for it is the catch). the one you describe Sgt. Fury Annual #1,(1965),72 pages, $0.25: is listed in my book like this regarding grade/value ; 9.2 NM- ($300), 9.0 VF/NM ($195), 8.0 VF ($89) and then drops steady down to 2.0 GD ($13). the prices in over street are primarily based on the condition of the comic, regardless if its been professionally graded or not. It is a good travel reference and it is very useful if I can not find a comic here. Hope you find this useful

  • A Classics Illustrated, are a tricky comic to be identified as a original but this is the primary rule all Classics Illustrated after #167 Faust printed 8/1962 are said to be reprints. however in my study of the series I found that originals will have a couple of things a reprint won't .They will have a ad for the next issue coming in the series and they will have a reorder list, with the Highest Reorder Number (Highest Reorder Number of), being shown (example; issue number #67 the Scottish chiefs, Highest Reorder Number would have a list of the issues #1- 67 ,ending with #67( the last currently in print issue) so flip your comic over or look at inside cover to see what the books Highest Reorder Number is. I have issue #89, I know its a reprint because, it has no next issue coming ad which would be #90 and it has a Highest Reorder Number of 169. so it had to be printed after issue #169. Issue #1 you speak of has no reorder number because it was the only issue in print in 10/1941 68pg (it should have a next issue coming ad) my #167 Classics Illustrated is also a reprint, printed in 6/1967 (original was printed; 8/1962) still these reprints have some value. If you do have a original #1 or reprint its listed in most of my references as $1-$8700.
