Author Rob Liefeld .... pretty bad

I was reading a lot of hate about Rob's art and I wasn't sure why. As a kid I read Youngblood and X-Force and liked them for awhile and didn't remember anything real strange with the art, just typical exaggerated stuff.

Then I read this site and now I see what people are talking about:

And finally, here is a pic [I assume it's legit] of Rob's Captain America. This is maybe the worst superhero drawing I've ever seen, for so many reasons.

Is the internet not full of enough Rob Liefeld criticizing threads?

Well as I said, I read the bashing but never saw what they were talking about. I thought that link was great in actually backing up what some of these people talk about.

I just cannot believe someone could draw that Capt. pic and walk away satisfied.

What I can't believe is that Marvel and it's editors allowed it to be publishedShocked

I never really liked his art and now I know why. I checked out that link and laughed at most of the drawings. I have to say that picture of captain america sums it up pretty good why is his arm so short? his neck is either in the wrong location or we are seeing too much of his chest. I think I should have spent more time drawing as a kid and I could get a job in comics too.

To me his worse offense was taking the first few pages of Teen Titans #39 and literary traced them for X Force #1. When he was caught he said it was a homage to George Perez. I call BS on that. If it was shouldn't it have been noted on the credits. Perez was not pleased.

I don't have any X Force anymore so if anyone has XF 1 they can make a comparison. It would be cool if you can scan the page that looks like this. So, we can all see what a hack artist he really is.

I never really cared for Liefield's work, but never bothered to look at enough to know exactly why. There was always something that wass just a little off. After having reading this thread (and following and reading the entire link), I know exactly why...and no, there can never be enough Liefield bashing!
