I have come across this one on ebay as well.
I've been trying to dig up info and my best guess based on the clues is that diamond select toys will have a neon sign available in the near future that will come with this variant comic book.
They have a cap america neon sign on their site that comes with a cap variant, so I'm guessing this is similar.

You should request that it be added to the database via the Missing Items forum Favorite Quote: "You're not just some guy in a bat costume are you? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! - Justice League #1, 2011" Hunting for (mainly reprints/variants) - Please help! - See My Profile

That's definitely it.. Nice detective work! this book seems to be so rare it might be worth buying a few of those signs and sending the comics to CGC... Last edited September 22, 2012 9:17:19 am

It looks like new these neon signs sell from about $125-200. I'd check out ebay... If I could get one still in the box for fifty bucks or so...Open it up take out the comic then re-sell the sign as a used open item...

I think it's a redemption. Another store where I shop opened one each of the Iron Man and Captain America signs and had them on display. I asked them what they did with the comic after they opened the box. Deer in the headlights look. No indication on the Iron Man box about the comic and they didn't have it or know it was supposed to be in there. The Captain America box had a sticker referencing the variant comic in that one but they opened it and said there was no comic in the box. So I don't know. Last edited September 22, 2012 5:30:14 pm

Here's the sign, available on amazon for $118 - not sure if it's worth it, but better than $499! http://www.amazon.com/Diamond-Select-Toys-Marvel-Exclusive/dp/B007L3ZN0G
