  • Just grabbed a couple boxes of comics from a guy... They're mostly 70's war comics. Found Frank Miller's first and second DC comics appearances, among lots of big runs of Unknown Soldier, Weird War Tales & Sgt. Rock. Wasn't aware his first dealings with DC were on Weird War Tales. Another reason why this site kicks .

  • Congrats on finding those.
I hunted them down back in the late 80's and got them for a few bucks each, haven't checked to see what they are worth now...guess it's time to check them out again.

  • Thanks! Not really big Ito the war stories... I love the history, but I find comics stray too much. The weird war tales are interesting though. Gonna enjoy reading those bad boys! It's nice to think that even Frank Miller had to start somewhere.

  • That's really cool Veenstra! I'm pretty sure I have Miller's first work for Marvel - an issue of John Carter - Warlord of Mars! Like you say, he had to start somewhere!

  • Frank Millers 1st work at Marvel was John Carter, Warlord of Mars #18

I have it as well, still his art is no where near what it was on DD...but still nice.
