- ok, i had a private showing of saw 5 the night before it opened (thursday night).
yep, just me by myself. i have keys to the place, i can see a movie anytime i want, literally.
anyway, as a stand alone movie by itself.......not so great. BUT, as part of the over all, big picture.......it was pretty good. just my personal opinion.
when i watched the 1st saw, i wasn't too impressed. it wasn't bad, i just didn't see it as the big deal everyone was making it outt to be. however, after the 2nd came out, i liked the 1st better. the more we learn about what's REALLY going on, the more i'm liking the series as a whole.
i definitely suggest watching 5 to anyone who is a fan of the series. going in blindly, without any knowledge of the big picture will leave you a little lost. again, just my opinion.

- I have seen 1-3 and am waiting for IV to show up on cable. I don't waste my money on them, although I do enjoy them.

- I thought #1 was incredible, one of the best twists in a movie seeing him stand up and walk out.
Ive been hooked
Cant wait to see this.

- this is simply what is wrong with the horror movie genre as a whole....saw was great, saw II was horrible....they should have stopped there....but nooo as with basically all horror movies, they have to make sequel after sequel and beat the once brilliant idea into you until it seems like the worst idea imaginable....i hate the horror movie genre (of course if cary elwes wasnt in the first one, i wouldnt have even given it a chance)

- ME too!
I make no attempt to watch horror movies. Because they all look stupid to me. Grudge, Ring, etc, etc,
Saw is the only horror movie in recent years i watched.(I watch the sequels because, well no reason )
I was dragged to see the Hills have eyes one of the worst movies ive ever seen.
I'll stick to my (ridiculous) Action movies Transporter 3 here I come.

- as i said above, i watched the 1st saw and it didn't really impress me that much.
it was ok. it had an unexpected twist at the end, cool. but after each sequel, i'm liking the series even more. for me, i guess it's the complexity of what's REALLY going on. so far, all the clues have been there but no one really picks up on them.
the fact that part 4 was actually taling place at the same time as 3 was awesome, in my opinion. and that you didn't ralize that until the very end was even better.
well, for any who are not fans of the series, you will be happy to know that it will end w/ part 6.

well, it seems that the creators feel the same about too many sequels ruining the franchise. they have stated that the series was written to be 6 parts and they are sticking with that. they also argue that it's not technically 6 parts since most of them take place at the same time. 1 compared it to reading a book. you read a chapter or 2 then you take a break. hmmmm, i guess that makes a little sense.
