"Gnort by Gnortwest" is written by Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis with art by Tom Artis and Art Nichols.
G'Nort is a canine-like member of the Green Lantern Corps. He is also sometimes an invaluable part of Justice League Antartica, which is where you are assigned when you cause more trouble than you solve. This issue is devoted to G'Nort.
Bored sitting around, G'Nort comes back to Justice League HQ to see if he can help out. Everyone is busy, of course, including those two chuckleheads Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. They tell him the same thing they told him last time: "Take a walk. A long walk."
Meanwhile, across the universe The Scarlet Skier is getting out of prison with the condition that he doesn't use his "locating" power. (He's got his fingers crossed behind his back.) Armed with his cosmic skis, his cosmic armor and his newly learned skill set acquired through The Manga Khan School of Melodrama, he uses his forbidden power to locate his arch-nemesis, G'Nort. And, of course, G'Nort is visiting Earth.
When The Skier crash lands on Earth, his location device is damaged and he decides to give up chasing G'Nort. But who is the first person to come to see if he's all right? You guessed it. Serendipity. A melee ensues between the two mental titans, which attracts the Justice League.
When The Skier escapes, G'Nort explains that he is the only villain he had ever brought to justice...and that was by accident. He further explains that The Scarlet Skier's job is find suitably tacky planets for his master, a cosmic entity called Mister Nebula whose primal instinct is to redecorate.
Can the Justice League get to The Scarlet Skier before he summons his boss? Is our planet doomed to be fabulous?
Funny writing, great art and a nice cover by Adam Hughes. Check it out.
