How Popular is Blackhawk

Looking for a new title to collect and thinking about Military Comics/Modern Comics/Blackhawk but was wondering how popular is this character. I read a lot of them when I was a teenager in the Silver Age but have not read any in the last 20 years.

  • Personally, I like Blackhawk a lot. . .my favorite is the 3 issue mini from 1988. Unfortunately, from the looks of it, Blackhawk in general is one of those titles that never really seems to be able to get a good foothold. The New 52 relaunch only lasted 8 issued and the previous attempt only lasted for 16. The Good news is that with such low number runs, Modern Blackhawk is pretty easy to collect and they're a good read. I'm not so sure about the quality of the first series, which seems to have had a pretty long run, but I haven't run into many of those issues.
